ICC World Cup Record Corner
  • Ireland made its only ICC CWC appearance to date when it reached the Super Eights stages of the ICC CWC 2007.
  • It achieved famous victories over Pakistan and Bangladesh at the ICC CWC 2007.
  • Ireland’s tie with Zimbabwe at the tournament was the third tie in ICC CWC history.
  • Jeremy Bray became the 11th man in ICC CWC history to carry his bat through the allotted overs in that match.
  • It qualified for the 2011 event by winning the ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifier in 2009.
  • Ireland has won three ICC Intercontinental Cup trophies, the first-class competition for Associates/Affiliates, although it failed to make the final in 2009-10.
  • Prior to the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011, it had never played an ODI under floodlights.
