ICC World Cup Record Corner
  • It has played in every edition of the ICC CWC since 1983 but it has never made the semi-finals.
  • Zimbabwe’s run of 18 matches between 11 June 1983 and 14 March 1992 is the record for most consecutive ICC CWC games without a victory.
  • Duncan Fletcher became the first player in ICC CWC history to score more than 50 runs and take four wickets in a game against Australia in 1983.
  • Craig Wishart is one of three players to have scored 150 or more on his ICC CWC debut – he hit 172 not out against Namibia at the ICC CWC 2003.
  • In that innings Wishart became the third Zimbabwe player to carry his bat through the allotted overs – no other country has as many players to achieve that feat.
  • Dave Houghton and Iain Butchart hold the record eighth wicket partnership for the CWC after scoring 117 against New Zealand in 1987.
  • Heath Streak is Zimbabwe’s leading wicket-taker in ICC CWC history with 22 victims.
