• Sri Lanka won its only ICC CWC to date in 1996, although it also reached the final in 2007.
• Muttiah Muralidaran is third on the all-time ICC CWC list for most wickets – he has captured 53 victims so far.
• Aravinda de Silva is one of five players to have scored a century in an ICC CWC final.
• When it beat Kenya at the ICC CWC 1996, it scored a record 256 runs in boundaries – more boundaries than any other team.
• Sanath Jayasuriya is one of nine players to have scored three centuries or more in ICC CWC history.
• He is also fourth on the all-time list for most runs in the ICC CWC (he has 1165 to date).
• Sri Lanka is the only team to be involved in a tied match in ICC CWC history involving D/L method – against South Africa in 2003.
